Beauty Haul | November

Saturday, 23 November 2013
When I see other bloggers hauls, I noticed that most of them post their monthly haul at the beginning of the month. But for me, like today, I'll be posting on stuffs that I bought throughout this month of November, so when I decided to do reviews on them, it means I have been using them for a quite period period of time, unless it's stated it is a first impression post.

Now let's get right into it!

I've been loving the products that I have from Skinfood so I went to the store again to get some more products and trial kits which are perfect just to try out some stuffs. I got the Black Sugar kit that contain Black Sugar Perfect First Serum Miniature with Cotton pads and Black Sugar Scrub Foam and the Facial Care Kit that contains Carrot Cleansing Foam (50ml), Facial Water Vita-C (Mist) 50ml, head band, and cotton pads. I also got the Black Sugar Wash-Off Mask as I've been hearing great things about it being a holy grail product among beauty bloggers.

Review | Etude House I Need You, Lemon! Mask Sheet

Thursday, 21 November 2013
Hello, lovelies! How's your Monday? For me, it was really tiring so to replenish myself with my version of elixir of life, I went to my new favourite hot spot, which is the newly opened Starbucks in Avenue K, next to KLCC and enjoyed a cup of Soy-based Green Tea Latte while sitting in a corner, watching other people as they come in and out of the cafe, drinking their coffees, having fun chatting with their friends, or having some business meetings. Oh, yeah. I love doing this once in a while.

Anyway, I was talking with some friends today about our favourite mask sheets and so far, I've only tried those from TheFaceShop and Etude House. Oh, also from in-house brand Watsons, and Garnier Light Complete mask sheets.

So while we were comparing the goodness of our choice of favourites, one of them actually came up with a challenge, which is to do a mask sheets marathon i.e. using mask sheets every 2 to 3 days religiously. Since we've decided to do that, I guess it's natural for me to post all about it in here for the next two weeks as I have prepared 6 mask sheets for this marathon and all of them are from Etude House I Need You! sheet mask line.

Since I already posted my review on Pearl Extract, today I'll be reviewing the Lemon.

Etude House I Need You, Lemon! Mask Sheet

Lemon Extract 1000mg
Brighten skin and providing vitality

With high amount of Vitamin C and lemon ingredients that help regulate sebum secretion, containing natural AHA-containing fruit ingredients, remove all the necessary waste and makes your skin smooth and clear.

Review | Etude House Baking Powder Crunch Pore Scrub

Wednesday, 20 November 2013
Hello, beautiful people! How's your weekend? It's a beautiful Sunday and if you don't have anything planned for the rest of your weekend, treat yourself with body massage or mini spa that you could do on your own.

Anyway, I had some free time in my hands right now hence another review! Today, in continuation from yesterday's review, I'm going to share with you guys one of my favourite scrub which is Baking Powder Crunch Pore Scrub from Etude House.

First of all, I love scrubs. Well, I love anything that remove dead skin cells off my skin so scrub is one of it. I tried other brands before and finally I found a product that is not harsh to my skin and doesn't break me out. Scrubbing my skin has been a beauty ritual for me for the past few months and I scrub at least once a week.

Review | Etude House Baking Powder Pore Cleansing Powder Wash

Tuesday, 19 November 2013
Hello, beautiful people!! How's your Saturday? OMG! It's been almost a week since I last did a review!! My schedules are so tight right now, that's why. 6 more weeks before the semester break! I am excited because I just purchased my flight tickets home yesterday! :D

Anyway, enough babbling about my life, let's move on to the review for today, which is probably being reviewed more times than you can count because this product, along with its sisters, was released back in 2011. It's been over 2 years and this shows just how good this product is (same goes with others from the same line) that Etude House kept on manufacturing it and I do hope they gonna keep continuing cause I'm in love with this cleanser.

Now, let's go to the Product Description.

Baking Powder gently exfoliates with its powder texture and penetrates pores to absorb oil and residue for a thorough cleanse.

Basically, it says that this product will gently exfoliate your skin with its powder-ish texture and goes deep into your pores to absorb sebum and residues.

How to use:
First, wet your skin with water (it goes without saying that it's recommended for you to remove makeup by cleansing cream/water/milk before using this product.).
Then dispense the product onto your hands.
Proceed with applying the product on skin. I guess it's natural for us to spread the product using both hands before applying it on our skin.
Lather it up by massaging your skin for like 2 minutes.
Rinse with lukewarm water thoroughly.

Net vol.: 60g

Packaging:

I gotta say, the packaging is quite minimalistic, (which I love) but it's not what you expected from Etude House but again, thinking that this from 2011, maybe during that time the focus isn't really for the packaging part. Nevertheless, I love the blue hues and yes, this again has created confusion among the people in my house. If you can't find this, go look for it in your baking cupboard.

It' been over a year since it's manufactured. It's okay.

I just love the cap for this one cause it's so tight but easy to open and I think it's important cause this product comes in powder so in order to avoid spilling, close the cap properly by making sure you heard the 'click' sound. Oh, I love the baby blue hue.

Texture and Scent:

It's powder-ish texture, duh and as you lather it with water, it'll turned into thick (depends on the amount you dispense) white liquid. I'm comfortable with it. No irritation none whatsoever.

Unlike the Cleansing Cream, the scent of this product to me is like flour or thick soybean I guess. I have soybean powder shake to give me extra boost in the morning and they smell exactly the same. I'm neutral with the scent. I rather have the natural scent rather than it smells like chemicals.

Verdict:
I love this product so much! After using it, it doesn't leave my skin with tight feeling, just soft and supple and oh I just love it! I used toner right after, and didn't see any trace of makeup or anything on my cotton pads and I guess it's really does its job in deep cleansing!

This product totally reminds me of my friend's Kose Powder Cleanser (I'm not sure the exact name) that I tried and fell in love with but damn it's so expensive in Malaysia!

This is perfect after long hours in the studio which is why I bought the whole line for cause it really deep cleansed my skin and after using the product, I feel refreshed!

Final verdict: 5/5. Love it! Will I repurchase? Definitely! I would recommend this product to those with skin like moi, oily-combo skin, and I guess it's not suitable for dry skin but no worries, this line has the moisturizing Whipping Foam version and I think it's in red hue. Go check it out while its still available!

This product is from my September Haul and according to my receipt, I got this during Etude House Sweeties Club September Promotion for only RM19.90. It's not pictured there though. The retailed price is RM39.90.

So, I guess that's it! I'll see you guys next post! Annyeong~

Review | THE FACE SHOP Real Nature Rice Mask Sheet

Monday, 18 November 2013
Happy Sunday! It's been raining all day and I feel like want to stay in bed all day with warm milk and a good book~ with assignments and whatnot, keep on dreaming! T___T

Anyway, today it's going to be a quick post as I still have some final touch to do for my presentation tomorrow so I guess I'm going to review my first sheet mask from THE FACE  SHOP which is Real Nature Rice Mask Sheet.

Skincare Routine | Daily Skincare 1.0

Sunday, 17 November 2013
What a beautiful Saturday! It's been raining everyday in the morning for the past week and only today I got to see the sunshine through my windows! Anyway, today I want to talk about my current skin care regimen. Nothing to brag about, as it's only been 2 months and a half since I started. I just want to share with you guys out there, thinking that maybe you can point out if there's something that just not suitable or not supposed to do and hopefully we all can benefit by sharing what we know, yeah?

First thing is of course the Cleansing stage. For cleansing purposes, I'm using several products depending on my skin condition that day, and how deep I need to cleanse my skin especially in the evening.

Exfoliation. If you know me, then you know I love exfoliating my skin. To me it's important to exfoliate my skin at least twice a week to remove dead skin cells.
Current products:
Etude House Baking Powder Crunch Pore Scrub
Skinfood Rice Wash-Off Mask

Massage Cream: Like body massage, facial massage helps to relax your skin, alleviate dullness and sagging also it can promote better circulation below the skin and hence better absorption of skin care products. As for the texture of the cream, it should easily glides over the skin instead of being fully absorbed. This allows me to massage my skin easily without stretching or pulling it. I usually massage my skin at least twice a week.
Current product: TheFaceShop Rice Water Bright Massage Cream

Wash-Off Masks: I love wash-off masks mainly because I love how I can feel the texture of the product while I'm massaging it onto my skin. The purpose of wash-off masks are usually to nourish your skin so my choice of products usually for brightening my skin which contain Apple, Kiwi, and Strawberry, as active ingredients, in Honey or Yogurt forms. To promote better absorption of the products into my skin, I will use my The Body Shop Deep Cleansing Face Mask Enhancer. Click here to know on how to use it.
Current products:
Etude House Wonder Pore Clay Clear Mask
Etude House I Need You Honey Wash-Off Mask
Etude House I Need You Yogurt Wash-Off Mask

Toner: After using makeup remover, cleansing oil, foams, even masks, toner picks up any residue left over and refreshes and balances my skin pH as well.
Current product: TheFaceShop Flebote White Crystal Brightening Skin Toner

Daily Paper Masks: If I'm not using my wash-off masks, I will use paper masks instead. It's so easy and simple! I'm big on paper masks so whenever I shop for skin care products, I will get like at least 10 for myself. Again, I'll focus on getting masks that contain brightening active ingredients. I'm using paper masks usually on Monday and Friday.
Current products:
TheFaceShop Real Nature Mask Sheets
Etude House It's Real Mask Sheets
Etude HouseI Need You Mask Sheets

Essence or Serum: These are more concentrated version of a moisturizer that are formulated to target specific problem. Their small molecules allows them to penetrate deeply into the skin, smoothing and healing from the inside out.
Current product: TheFaceShop Flebote White Crystal Effect Essence

Emulsion: According to hereemulsion is practically a light moisturizer that is often used in the day, whereas traditional moisturizers, lotions and creams may be used at night. The advantage of emulsion is that as a light moisturizer it is just absorbed into the skin fasten, and does not clog pores; hence it is quite effective for people with normal-oily or oily skin. Furthermore, as a light moisturizer, it does not give the skin the shiny, oily look. I think I do agree with this definition.
Current product: TheFaceShop Flebote White Crystal Brightening Emulsion

Facial Moisturizer: It helps in preventing my skin from getting dry. Even though I have normal-oily combo skin, I always use moisturiser to compensate the stripped natural oil while deep cleansing my skin.
Current product: TheFaceShop Flebote White Crystal Moisture Radiance Cream

Sleeping Mask: I love sleeping mask! Like I mentioned in previous post here, it's something that I used to whenever I have the urge to give my skin extra care especially on those days when I'm lack of sleep or rest where my skin feels lifeless, dull, and just screaming for help! So I usually just cleansed, toned my skin and put this mask on and sleep with it. Wake up with a brighter and for lack of a better word, radiating skin.
Current product: TheFaceShop Raspberry Roots Sleeping Mask

Soothing Gel: On those days where I go to events outdoor, I will come home with feeling slightly burning sensation. So I use this product to soothe my skin.
Current product: Nature Republic Aloe Vera Soothing Gel

Sunscreen: As I'm using lots of brightening products, it's imperative to use sunscreens. I get sunburn easily so I use sunscreens every day before leaving my room. Both for facial and body.
Current products:
TheFaceShop Natural Sun AQ Sun Cream SPF50+ PA+++
Etude House Sun Prise Cooling Body Spray SPF50+ PA+++

So yeah, that's about it. Phew! That was long, huh? Only after completing this regime I can start applying my makeup in the morning or go to bed at night.

How about you guys? Do share the one product that you would never skip not even a day. Also, what's your HG moisturiser.

Until next post, au revoir!

Review | Etude House Baking Powder Pore Cleansing Cream

Saturday, 16 November 2013
Hello, beautiful people! Finally, Friday is here!!! Well, at least you guys are going to enjoy your weekend as I'm going to have my first critique session for my major design project next Monday. Hence, no weekend! T__T

But no worries, because today I'll be reviewing another cleansing cream from my September Haul that I'm currently using especially on Monday and Friday because I consider this cleansing cream as a heavy duty product.

To some of you who may not know what is a cleansing cream, it's a product mainly used to remove light to medium makeup. A makeup remover that works like cleansing oils, but with less oily residue.

I have normal-oily combo skin so on the normal days when I only used CC cream, BB cream and powder pact or mineral loose powder, I will just use cleansing cream to remove my makeup. But I usually have long hours in the studio particularly on Monday and Friday and hence I require a different set of cleansing line to help me remove all the accumulated dirt on my skin. My TheFaceShop Rice Water Bright works in a same way but I just feel that I need a deeper cleansing plus, I do like to have a change of products I'm using once a while. Especially for cleansing products.

Anyway, let's move on to the product.

I think the Baking Powder line was released back in 2011 because I think I saw the ads were done by Dara 2NE1. I'm not sure. Feel free to correct me if you saw the ads were done by Park Shin Hye instead.

Review | I Need You Honey Wash-Off Mask Part 4

Thursday, 14 November 2013
Hello, beautiful people! How's your Wednesday? For me Wednesday is the best day of the week cause I only have class in the morning. So in the evening I got to catch some sleep or watch movie. May sounds weird to you guys cause no, I don't have normal weekends. It usually filled with assignments, projects, presentations preparations and whatnot.

Anyway, right after returning from campus, I remembered that I haven't post up this review on the last portion of my I Need You, Wash-Off Mask Honey, which is Cactus extract. I tried this portion like a week ago but decided to KIV this post because I was so busy with uni stuffs.

Anyway, according to Etude House, this portion supposedly can help you to remove skin dirt (huh?). I don't really get that part. Is it dead skin cells or what?
