Review: TheFaceShop Flebote White Crystal Brightening Emulsion

Monday 6 January 2014
Hello, beautiful people! It's Monday and finally I'm done with final exams! Yay!!! To those who're still battling, good luck and hopefully we all come out as winners!

Finished exam in the afternoon and went back to my dorm, clean up my bed (apparently there's ten thousand things on it) and then washed up my face, put on my sleeping mask and sleep like 7 hours. :D Just had my proper dinner after few days of eating crap. Literally crap. T__T Been eating junk food cause I'm too lazy to go out of my room and get some food from cafe. Sigh. Kids don't do this at home.

Anyway, as I already post about my toner and essence from Flebote White Crystal line of TheFaceShop, today I'm going to post about another product from the same line, which is its Emulsion.

In Korea, emulsion refers to a much lighter, non-sticky face lotion that works with skin's natural oils to promote hydration. It works on all skin types because it is water based and does not clog pores but it is most recommended for those with oily-combo skin.

As for me, I'm using this Emulsion during the day and then proceed with sunscreen and BB cream, and at night before putting on my night cream, which is currently the Etude House Flower Moistfull Cream

Product Description:
Lustrously glowing skin with added moisture and softness.

This high-potency brightening emulsion with Korean White Pine Extract, a natural skin brightener, and Opuntia Tuna Fruit Extract softens and brightens rough skin tone that damaged by UV rays, weather and other environmental pollution. Additions of Saffron Extract and Chestful Pellicle Extract strengthen skin barrier for moisturized, polished skin.

What is Korean White Pine?
It's an evergreen tree native to korea that has prized since ancient times for its unchanging green colour. Rich in resveratrol, an excellent anti-oxidant and skin brightener, this unique ingredient specially developed by THEFACESHOP laboratory, provides skin with last long lasting brightness and glow.

What is Saffron?
Saffron is a rare plant grown in the clean snows of beautiful, pristine Tibetan highlands, 5000m above sea level. It's Flebote's key ingredient that protects skin from free radicals and activates skin metabolism for improved clarity and resilience.

Packaging:

This product does come with a box. A sturdy one at that as there's another lining of cardbox inside.

Similar with other items from the line, this one too with the hologram fonts. Looks interesting on my vanity table though.

Note that to finish the whole bottle within a year. Use product right after dispensed.

I gotta say, the glittery grey hues is growing on me.

The back of the bottle. Just some basic info on the product. Yep, it's Made in Korea.

I think the bottle is rather unique with the triangle cylinder. (Is that the word?? Do tell if you know what it is hehe) Expired in 2016.

This pump is awesome! Been using for over 3 months now. No problem! Dispense the right amount each and every time. :D

Verdict:

As for the consistency, it's a bit runny. As this emulsion is water-based so it absorbs into my skin quickly which is really nice. It's not sticky or anything. Smells just like other products from the same line, (though this is due to fragrance).

Overall, I do love it. I tried few other emulsion before like Skinfood Gold Kiwi Emulsion, but it's a bit moisture for me, hence broke out after using few times (happened while I was hunting for the right emulsion at the end of September) and then I tried some samples from Etude House but also broke out terribly. So this emulsion, though this doesn't come in samples, I just tried at the store, on my face, and loved the consistency so I decided to get this for myself and mum.

I've been using this for over 3 months and based from my observation (by looking at the shadow of the product under a light source, (ugh! this is the part where I don't like about the packaging, you can't tell from the outside how much product you have left. The bottle is nice on the outside but it is so opaque!) I think I'm only used up about 2/3 of the bottle. So I guess I'm good for another a month or two.

As this too, does helped in brightening up my skin, I guess I can say, it's working. As I've been using the whole line (except for the eye cream), from toner, essence, this emulsion and the moisturizing cream, I can tell it's working. Plus it's really hydrating my skin. Most brightening and whitening products are drying up skin, but according to the BA in TheFaceShop KL Festival City, this skincare line has anti-wrinkle property so it'll hydrate your skin. With the Shea Butter I think. it's listed in the ingredient list.

Final Verdict: I give this 4/5. Well, I still have lots of time to decide whether to repurchase or not. Chances are, if I were to get different skincare line, then I guess no. I went to TheFaceShop store recently and they said what's coming in 2014 is the new (in Malaysia) Mango Seed (moisture function) and Calming (trouble care) line. Currently, they're offering Buy 2 Free 1 promotion so let's see.

Plus I'm eyeing a skincare line from Nature Republic right now which is The First skincare line. Someone recommended it as it's working well with his skin (also oily-combo) but mostly the items from the same line are over RM100 which is expensive! So, I'm highly considering to ask my cousin to buy for me from Korea or maybe just online shopping.

After discovering Nature Republic The First line, I also came across Missha Time Revolution skincare line but there's no Missha store in Malaysia. Checked out some info on it and found out they have several stores in Singapore. Found out about the particular product that I want to try, which is Missha Time Revolution First Treatment Essence and it costs SGD89.90 (about RM240) now that's expensive! But I hear so many beauty bloggers were raving about how it's a dupe for SK-II Treatment Essence. I read that Missha Time Revolution First Treatment Essence performed even better than SK-II's. How a USD52 product beats USD155 product? I'm so curious!

Anyway, this emulsion is retailed at RM89.90 and I got this during TheFaceShop 10th Anniversary Sale on 4th October last year so I get 15% discount plus as I spent above RM300, I got lots of freebies. hehe

So I guess that's a wrap for this post. Stay tuned for the last part as I'm going to review the moisturizer cream after this. Gonna do my laundry now! LOL

Au revoir!
