Log | Road Trip!

Monday, 22 February 2021

So my family and I took a family trip to my mum's hometown last week and I've figured I needed to bring some beauty essentials for 6-hour long drive. Other than some sheet masks, no-rinse makeup removers and facial mists, I also packed my current favourite sunscreen and it's this Dr. Jart+Every Sun Day™️ Sun Fluid SPF50+. I love that this sunscreen is watery and lightweight therefore easy to reapply. Never skip your sunscreens, okay!

Review | THE FACE SHOP Natural Sun Eco No Shine Hydrating Sun Cream SPF40 PA+++

Tuesday, 3 December 2019

Ever since I started practicing 10-step Korean skincare routine over 6 years ago, I always apply sunscreen as the last step of my skincare routine in the mornings. I might skip some products like eye cream or emulsion for my shortcut routines with a combination of deep cleansing, toning and moisturising but sun protection is not something I am willing to ignore.

I would apply my favourite tone-up sunscreens with some translucent powder on top and head out to work on my super lazy days but on regular days when I apply foundations, I prefer to use hydrating sunscreens. I’d use either physical or chemical sunscreens in between my skincare products and makeup applications. This is simply because most of my foundations have low to no SPF, so even if you do not have a base makeup or primer, you can definitely use sunscreen prior your foundation application for UV protection.

After all these years of using and testing many sunscreens from South Korean brands, I would still always go back to this Natural Sun Eco No Shine Hydrating Sun Cream SPF40 PA+++ from THE FACE SHOP. It is simple and fuss-free to use but before I go in-depth about this product, let’s get to some basic information first.

Product Description:

Contains Sunflower Sprout Extract 5000 microgram – certified by ECO-CERT

  • This versatile sun cream protects the skin from both UVA and UVB and works as a mattifying and pore smoothing primer.
  • Formulated with extracts of sebum absorbing Cotton Seed and Chia Seed which is known to carry up to 10 times its weight in moisture, it hydrates and absorbs excess shine at the same time.

How to Use:

  1. Apply an adequate amount on the face and neck at the final stage of skincare.
  2. Apply generously 15 minutes before sun exposure (or makeup).

Capacity: 50ml

Ingredients list:

Water, Cyclopentasiloxane, Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate, Alcohol Denat, Isoamyl P-Methoxycinnamate, Ethylhexyl Salicylate, Phenylbenzimidazole Sulfonic Acid, Dipropylene Glycol, Butyl Methoxydibenzoylmethane, Polyglyceryl-6 Stearate, Ethylhexyl Methoxycrylene, Tromethamine, Vinyl Dimethicone/Methicone Silsesquioxane Crosspolymer, Methyl Methacrylate Crosspolymer, Panthenol, Polyglyceryl-3 Methylglucose Distearate, Potassium Cetyl Phosphate, Propanediol, Dimethicone/Vinyl Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Cetearyl Olivate, Polyglyceryl-6 Behenate, Dimethicone, Acrylates/ Vinyl Isodecanoate Crosspolymer, Sorbitan Olivate, Sodium Hydroxide, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Sodium Polyacrylate, Xanthan Gum, Caprylhydroxamic Acid, Trisodium EDTA, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Sprout Extract, Cetearyl Alcohol, Glyceryl Stearate, Menthyl PCA, Plankton Extract, Silica, Butylene Glycol, Sodium PCA, Salvia Hispanica Seed Extract, Gossypium Herbaceum (Cotton) Seed Extract, Parfum/Fragrance.

Packaging:

The sunscreen comes in a box with similar design and in my favourite turquoise colour! There are ample product information printed at the sides of the box on more information about it and they are printed both in Korean and English!

As shown above, the product packaging comes with a simple screw cap with a small tube-end for easy product dispense and there’s simple product descriptions printed at the back of the tube although mostly in Korean.

The expiry date is printed at the top of the tube in YYYYMMDD (year-month-day) format.

Application:

As you can see in the above photo, the sunscreen comes in that slightly yellowish cream but once spread even on skin, there is only slight white cast visible on skin.

The texture is lightweight so it is easy to spread on skin whether you’re using fingers or air puff like me. I would say that the scent is quite overpowering to some people but not to worry as it doesn’t linger.

Thoughts:

This product’s highlighted function is for sebum control but still provide hydration and moisture to skin. This is very interesting to me as I believe normal to oily skin (like mine) still need ample moisture so skin can properly regulate the oil and hydration level so to not secrete excessive oil. I have to agree that this sunscreen does what it claims as my oily T-zone didn’t get oily by midday and the rest of my facial area feels nicely hydrated and smooth.

Furthermore, as sunscreen is the one product that I apply as the last step for my morning skincare routine, it provided enough hydration I needed so it will sit comfortably on my skin. Most other mattifying sunscreens tend to dehydrate my dryness-prone facial area and other moisturising sunscreens with thicker consistency felt heavy on my skin or worse, gave me breakouts!

Overall, I give this product 4.5/5. I’m absolutely loving this sunscreen from THE FACE SHOP! I bought my first tube of the product in a previous packaging a few years ago, then the brand switched to this new packaging and they even came out with a The Simpsons™ collection for this sunscreen along with several other ones from the Natural Sun Eco (sunscreen) line of the brand. The half-point deduction is because I kind of wish that this was SPF50+ but I guess that’s okay because I’m going to reapply it by midday anyway so all is good!

While some might say sunscreen acts as a protection from the sun, I’m going to say right here that sunscreen also protects your skin from other external stressors like pollution and makeup products that can potentially clog your pores. Also, it is very important to choose sunscreens that offer all of these things at the same time feels nice on skin so you won’t feel reluctant to reach out for it and reapply as much as you need throughout the day.

I guess that's all from me so I'll be seeing you guys on my next post. Annyeong~

Review | Althea Petal Velvet Sunaway SPF50+ PA++++

Tuesday, 20 November 2018

A month ago, I've received another Althea Angel blogger mail and this time I've received an opportunity to personally tried and tested their recently launched product for their in-house brand; a new addition to their Althea Exclusives, Althea Petal Velvet Sunaway SPF50+ PA++++. Indeed, it's a new sister to my current favourite finishing powder which is the Petal Velvet Powder that are available in 3 different variants as of this year.

You guys already know that I'm huge on sun protection and sunscreen is the last step for my morning skincare routine; the most important step for skin protection against the sun UV rays. I would say that no matter how much you invest your time and effort to do your skincare through mornings and nights, all those treatments will go down the drain if you do not add suitable sunscreen product to your AM routine and equally important to the first application in the morning (assuming you're like me who always go out to work on weekdays and outdoor activities on weekends) is the reapplication of sunscreen throughout the day.

As someone who have normal to oily (T-zone) skin with dehydrated U-zone area, I'm always looking for sunscreen that hydrates and gives me slightly matte finish. I won't mind slight white cast for that toned-up look as long as my overall complexion won't appear ghostly i.e. overly white for medium skin tone. As for the formula, I'm into sunscreens that contain chemical filters these days (notable ingredients oxybenzone, avobenzone, octisalate, octocrylene, homosalate and octinoxate) but I've been using physical sunscreens up to last year (notable ingredients being zinc oxide and/or titanium dioxide) so I don't mind using either or better, hybrid of the two group of ingredients.

Now, let's go into some details on this product first.

Althea Petal Velvet Sunaway SPF50+ PA++++

Product Description:

  • Lightweight texture with powerful UV protection
    • A non-chemical UV filter (builds up sunscreen filter on the surface of the skin and scatters UV light) formula with a light, fluid texture to protect the skin from both UVA and UVB rays.
  • Velvety finish, hydrating formula
    • Controls excessive sebum on the skin with a micro powder system while hyaluronic acid ensures the skin is kept hydrated throughout the day.
  • Micro powder barrier™
    • Micro particles absorb sebum and excess oil from the skin to give a light, velvety finish.
    • As you apply the Sunaway, hyaluronic acid replenishes moisture and deeply hydrates the skin.
  • Hydrating, fresh formula
    • Controls excess sebum on the skin with a micro powder system throughout the day
  • Advanced non-chemical UV filter
    • Applies evenly and smoothly onto the skin without leaving a white cast behind due to an advanced non-chemical UV filter with a more transparent formula.
  • Damask Rose
    • Contains Damask Rose extracts to moisturise and smoothen the skin.
    • Damask rose has a natural nanomolecular composition that is rich in vitamins to penetrate deep into the skin, soothing sensitives and strengthening it for a radiant glow.
Dermatologist tested.

Ingredients:
Water, Cyclopentasiloxane, Zinc Oxide, Disiloxane, Propanediol, Titanium Dioxide, Dicaprylyl Ether, Methyl Methacrylate Crosspolymer, Pelargonium Graveolens Flower Oil, Salvia Officinalis (Sage) Oil, Pogostemon Cablin Oil, Citrus Aurantium Bergamia (Bergamot) Fruit Oil, Rosa Damascena Flower Extract, PEG-10 Dimethicone, Stearic Acid, Aluminum Hydroxide, Vinyl Dimethicone/Methicone Silsesquioxane Crosspolymer, Sodium Chloride, Triethoxycaprylylsilane, 1,2-Hexanediol, Sorbitan Caprylate, Glyceryl Caprylate, Polyglyceryl-6 Polyricinoleate, Ethylhexylglycerin, Butylene Glycol, Ethyl Hexanediol, Caprylyl Glycol

Contains mineral ingredients; titanium dioxide and zinc oxide that work by sitting on top of the skin to deflect and scatter UV rays away from the skin.

Now, let's talk about the packaging!

The sunscreen came within the cute pink box that is in similar design to their Althea box  used for delivery. There's Korean product description printed at the back of the box so if you still need further information in English, I have provide the link at the end of this post for your convenient.

There's product batch and expiry date printed at the smaller side of the box and again at the bottom of the bottle itself. The format is YYYYMMDD.

As you can see above, the sunscreen came in a small bottle in opaque white with pink screw cap. There's simple product description at the back as well. Do note that you'll be needing to shake the bottle well before usage especially when left unused for awhile.

Like most sunscreen bottles, this one too comes with a small opening to easily dispense the product to avoid excessive amount.

APPLICATION

Upon first application, the consistency is indeed lightweight, feels fresh on skin and doesn't leave much white cast on me. The scent is rosy and nice; not overpowering or linger at all. This sunscreen does last quite well throughout all morning on its own and even when used under base makeup e.g. foundation, the finishing isn't affected at all and they work nice and even. Although I've only used this sunscreen like few times under Fenty Pro Filt'r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation and its primer sister but they work well together.

I usually go for tone-up sunscreens for first sunscreen application in the morning but I do use this sunscreen on top of tone-up creams or another Althea Exclusive;  Althea Fixer Cream for no-makeup makeup look for almost everyday during the past month. Whenever I feel like my skin needs hydration boost, I'd incorporate simple hydrating or moisturising sheet mask in my skincare routine but of course, if you're someone who consider yourself as beginner in skincare or just want to go for #skincarediet instead of doing a typical 10-step Korean skincare routine, you can try these Althea Exclusives that include from cleansers to moisturisers to fit your daily skin needs.

If you're wondering how to reapply your sunscreen throughout the day, it's pretty simple! Just dab your face with blotting paper for excess oil or facial tissues for sweat, then to just freshen up your skin, spray your face with hydrating facial mist evenly then after a few minutes, you can just apply the sunscreen on your facial area using clean fingers or air puffs by tapping motions for even application. I have also been pairing the sunscreen with its powder sisters most of the time for that smooth, velvety finish that last all day long.

I know it's fun to use different products from different brands most of the time but I've got to say that I do enjoy using Althea Exclusives together and I definitely think it's because they're designed to complement each other. I'm a huge fan of continuity not only in design but also in my skincare products. Oh, I can't wait to share with you guys about the latest launch from the brand; an exfoliator that transforms from a clay to a whipped cream lather. Definitely something I've never tried before.

Overall, I would say that this sunscreen is a great product that works well with my skin. It goes without saying that sunscreen is crucial no matter where you are, here in Malaysia or Brisbane, Australia. Speaking of which, commercial modelling agencies in Brisbane are looking for the next big thing; not burnt noses! If you're on a drier side but still would love to have slightly matte finish then you could use medium to light moisturiser underneath this sunscreen as that's what I do for my dehydrated U-zone area. I know, combination skin is so complicated especially after I hit the big 3-0 this year. Not only I need to cater my oily T-zone but also those flaky areas around lower cheeks to my jawline. I just found an intense cream for these area so I'll update you guys on that later.

You can purchase the sunscreen at individual price of RM43 or in a set of this sunscreen and any of the Powder sister with 10% discount (no code necessary) at only RM53.10 (Retail Price at RM59). If you're new to Althea and planning to purchase more than RM150, use my link (click here!) for 20% discount off your first purchase!

So I guess that's all from me! If you have already tried this sunscreen, do let me know what you think or if you haven't, tell me your favourite sunscreen that you'd like me to try next by leaving comments down below.

Until next post, annyeong~

Blogger Mail | Althea Petal Velvet Sunaway SPF50+ PA++++

Saturday, 20 October 2018

Yesterday, I've received another lovely blogger mail as I'm part of Althea's Beauty Ambassador  Community; Althea Angels and this time it's about sun protection! I know! You've seen my Instagram feed and I've got to say that it's definitely not my intention to actually done many reviews on different sunscreens from various brands but my dear, most brands that I personally currently using are releasing their own sun protection products! I can never have enough SPF so isn't it amazing?

This time around, Althea sent us their latest Althea Exclusive; Althea Petal Velvet Sunaway SPF50+ PA++++ along with their Petal Velvet Powders, all in 3 variants; #0 Translucent, #23 Warm Beige and their 3rd  Anniversary Special Edition, #Pink Lavender including that super cute Althea hologram makeup pouch! These are such aesthetically pleasing products to my eyes as you guys know how much I love minimal design.

As I'm going to at least give these products a try within the next few weeks; except those powders as I've already been using them since like way back when they first launched and I've been loving the Translucent one for the past year or so; finished my first tub back in July so in the meantime, do check out current promotions on these pretty babies on their website as Althea is having promotion where you can get the new sunscreen and one of the powder at special introductory price! Check out the links below! If you're new to Althea and planning to purchase more than RM150, use my link (click here!) for 20% discount off your first purchase!

I guess that's all for now and I'll be seeing you guys on my next post. Annyeong~

Blogger Mail | YADAH Oh My Sun Protection Milk SPF50+ PA++++

Saturday, 15 September 2018

Sunscreen or sunblock being the last step of my morning skin care routine prior makeup or not is the most vital step for skin protection against the sun rays and no matter how simple or complicated your AM skin care routine is, all your efforts will go down the drain if you do not incorporate suitable sunscreen in it. Therefore, when it comes to sunscreen, I have several criteria I want my ideal product to fill in. It has to be comfortable on my skin, suits our all year round hot and humid weather, it doesn’t leave white cast so much it’s turning me to a white ghost and most importantly, it is easy to reapply throughout the day.

Now, let's go to the packaging:

There's a whole English product description at the back of the box for our convenience.

I’m digging that minimalist style bottle; white and green colours with that cute cactus plant illustration signifying the featured ingredient which is Opuntia Coccinellifera Fruit Extract i.e. prickly pear; a type of cactus.

There's the expiry dates printed at the back of the box and bottom of the bottle as well for easy reference.

Application:

Thanks to its creamy texture, this physical sunscreen spreads out nice an even on my skin. I always use cushion air puff to apply this sunscreen as it helps with the even application and I'm a huge fan of the light and matte finish that it provides.

Even with simple skincare routine, this sunscreen works greatly in terms of protection (high SPF and PA++++!) and such a bonus to me that it gives off a slight brightened up complexion that looks natural even with just translucent powder on top; a mattifying look that last from morning till evening during office hours and I don't even have to blot my T- zone midday!

I actually use this sunscreen on days my skin becomes sensitive, dry and irritated due to allergic reactions but it was such a relief when it actually gives me soothing effect and enough moisture though I was still in #teamdoublefisting with soothing and hydrating sheet masks on those days.

Overall, 5/5. I love it! I'm not exaggerating but this one ticks all the boxes for my ideal sunscreen enough for me to buy its Tone-Up sister. Definitely recommend this for normal to oily skin people like me and for those with dry skin, I'd suggest to use suitable moisturiser prior application.

Thank you so much to Yadah Malaysia for sending me the PR kit for me to try your latest sunscreen and as for you guys, this sunscreen is available for purchase on GlamPick, Hermo and Watsons at RM78 for this 50ml size and RM138 for 100ml size.

I guess that's all if it! I'll see you guys on my next post! Annyeong~

Skincare Routine | Sunblocks!

Wednesday, 20 June 2018

I know I'm a little bit biased towards THE FACE SHOP but what can I say. Even before they decided to sponsor several products for review purposes, I already am a big fan of the brand and for sun protection, I've repurchased that Natural Sun Eco No Shine Hydrating Sun Cream SPF40 PA+++ like 3 times all in different packaging and the above is indeed the third version that I've seen since 2013.

I've pretty much did a summary of the above sunscreen products in my previous post here but there are some of these I'm planning to do in-depth reviews for; Natural Sun Eco Light Fluid Sunscreen and Natural Sun Eco Ice Air Puff Sun (2018) so do stay tuned for these two.

I've gotten that Innisfree Perfect UV Protection Cushion SPF50+ PA+++ around early last year. I'm not really a fan of the white cast it gives although it's light and goes on my skin nicely but even when I apply merely small amount of it, the white cast just don't appear well on my medium skin. This is one of the reason why I can't get over chemical sunscreen.

I guess that's all from me! Please let me know if you need me to do review on any of the product above (or you can just go here to see the sunscreens that I've already reviewed) by leaving comments down below.

Until next time, annyeong~

Review | Innisfree Daily UV Protection Cream Mild SPF35 PA++

Tuesday, 12 June 2018

I have to admit that at this point in my blog, I've done reviews on sunscreen products more than I'm probably expected to but it's just that I'm almost finished with this sunscreen so I've figured it's better late than never to publish this post. I've purchased this product from local Innisfree store in KL last year and I've been using it a lot for reapplication while I'm in the office for the past few months but my mum decided to to bring it while she's working on project sites which has made the tube so dirty I had to scrub it off with detergent before taking its photo for this quarter's Empties post. As for the photos that you're seeing here? I took them last year around the time I've got them; hoarder's  blogger's habit die hard. >.<

First, let's go with the basic information of this product.

Product Description:

A refreshing and moisturizing water-based UV protection cream with a special sunflower formulation.

5-Free system: animal ingredients, mineral oil, perfume, tar color and talc

How to use: At the last step of your skincare routine, evenly apply onto easily exposed areas of face.

Capacity: 50ml

Ingredients Highlight:

  • Contains sunflower oil and green tea extract Sunflower oil and Jeju green tea extract keep the skin healthy and protect it against UV rays
  • Contains common purslane and Asiatic pennywort extract

Packaging:

The product itself came in that opaque white tube housed within the box with similar illustration as the tube. It's minimal and I love it.

At the smaller side of the box there's the English product description along with the full ingredients list while at the back of the box there's Korean product description and you would've noticed the brown sticker indicating the product is distributed by Innisfree Malaysia.

As with other products, this sunscreen is to be used within 12 months after opening although I did stretched this one a little bit longer than I should. There's no change in its colour or scent so I guess it should be okay although I will recommend for you guys to proceed cautiously.

At the back of the tube there's the simplified product description in Korean with the expiry date embossed at the top of the tube. I don't know if you guys can see that but it's until 2019.05.22 (22 May 2019).

I like how small the opening of the tube as it's easy to control the amount of product being squeezed out of it. The screw cap is nice but you have to be careful with this kind of cap as you might want to avoid the tube being squeezed too hard with the cap on as the sunscreen will still going to come out.

Application:

I usually apply high SPF sunscreen for outdoor activities and as this sunscreen comes with low SPF35 (although the difference isn't actually that big) I only have been using it if I'm gonna spend the day indoor.

As you can see below, the sunscreen is white, almost opaque and slightly creamy consistency however once the cream spread out evenly on skin, there's only minimal white cast can be seen and the finishing is semi-matte which is suitable for under makeup like foundation or just translucent powder on days I'm not wearing cushion foundation.

As this sunscreen is water-based formula, it's quickly absorbed into the skin leaving nicely moisturized and refreshed feeling to it which is something that I really like when it comes to sunscreen. I remember when I had allergic reactions, I used this sunscreen and I do like how it soothes the skin instead of irritating it even more as I do find some sunscreens that are currently opened in my stash do that which is kind of surprising to me having been using them for awhile before.

Overall, I give this 4/5. It’s a nice chemical sunscreen but I’ve found a mineral sunscreen that I won’t be needing to have waiting time before going out of the house although with similar finish but higher SPF and broader spectrum. This sunscreen is still available in Innisfree Malaysia for RM35; kind of affordable compared to its sisters but I don’t think I’ll be repurchasing this as I still have other sunscreen to be used up.

I guess that’s all of it! I hope this simple review helps and I’ll be seeing you guys on my next post! Annyeong~

Makeup Stash | Foundations

Sunday, 8 April 2018

When it comes to makeup base, I love using cushion foundations instead of traditional way of using foundation as cushion foundations are much easier to apply and I love the finishing as well as the fact that cushion foundations comes with SPF50+. Especially these days when my favourite brand for cushion foundations; LANEIGE have expanded the range shades and I've finally found the exact shade for my skin tone. For reference, I'm currently MAC NC40.

Back in 2014, I got my first cushion foundation from LANEIGE; Snow BB Soothing Cushion SPF50+ PA+++ in No. 23, the deepest shade at the time and boy, it was way lighter than my skin tone at the time. I had to set it with MAC NC42 (also my shade at the time) face powder to tone down the whiteness but I've come to terms that it's definitely not for me. In 2015, I've discovered cushion foundation in No. 31  from Innisfree but it was too yellow for me (this is the moment when I discovered that I have neutral undertone) and then I've gotten myself LANEIGE BB Cushion (Whitening) in No. 31 Brown Beige. This one is only slightly brighter than my skin tone at the time but it's too dewy to my liking hence I got myself the BB Cushion (Pore Control) in the same shade No. 31 Brown Beige and I loved it to the point that I actually used up both of the refills. Located at second row from bottom.

In 2017, LANEIGE came out with renewed cushion foundations, adding Anti-Aging version and they even changed the look of the cushion itself. Of course, they've made their base correctors into the form of cushion as well although I didn't get one myself as using primer-foundation-setting powder is already a stretch so I only got the BB Cushion Whitening and Pore Control both in No. 33 Cinnamon. The reason why I went one shade deeper because at this point, LANEIGE has expanded the shade range once again and added more shades hence more choices for me. This shade was exactly my skin tone. Located at third row from the bottom.

In between the release of new cushion foundations, LANEIGE has released a matte cushion; Powder Fit Cushion that doesn't come with refill. This is perfect on those days I'm feeling extra oily on my T-zone so I'll apply this cushion on that area only with other BB Cushion for the rest of the area. The most recent launch is that beautiful, Layering Cover Cushion that supposedly give not only coverage but a rosy look as well. I haven't gotten around of using this yet as I have many cushions are already opened at this point so let's just wait till July or August. Located at top row.

I also got that three cushion foundations from THE FACE SHOP but the brand has discontinued the third shade for cushion and I've only been keeping those for the sake of the cases only. Just look at the KAKAO FRIENDS Ryan and Apeach!! Until they're bringing in more shades to Malaysia, I'm not gonna get any cushion foundations from them.

The ones in Innisfree cases are merely sunscreens in cushion forms and at this point of using it, I do find it's way easier to blend the sunscreen and it's important to be careful while applying using the air puffs as you might pressed the cushion deeply which can resulted in excess product being picked up and can cause your face turning white as ghost. What's even worse, the sunscreen took longer to blends into your skin tone.

Now, I'm going to talk a little bit about the most recent makeup purchase that I've made from SEPHORA, Fenty Beauty Pro Filt'r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation in the shade 290 Neutral Olive.

I've tried this at the store, with the primer sister and setting powder brother and I absolutely loving it. I got the perfect shade for my skin tone after trying 8 shades (yes, I thought I'm waaaayy darker than I look) and I just love the undertone for this foundation. I've only been using this less than 5 times (no occasions to attend at this time of the year really) so I'm going to do full review once I have enough experience of actually using it at least 8 hour-a-day.

So I guess that's all from me, I'll see you guys on my next post. Annyeong~

Review | THE FACE SHOP Natural Sun Eco Anti-Pollution Sun Cream SPF50+ PA+++

Monday, 13 November 2017
As you're probably expected from my previous post, here I am with another review on this sunscreen product from THE FACE SHOP with anti-pollution function. If you're someone who commute to work by using public transport or you're always working outdoors; exposed with polluted environment under the sun and in need of sunscreen product then this product might worth the try.

This particular product is a new addition to the brand's sunscreen line; Natural Sun Eco on top of the other sunscreen products that are already available at their stores. Overall, the brand offers you a wide range of products that cater to your skin needs and that doesn't limit to skincare only as their sunscreen products cover your oily, dehydrated or dry skin but this new addition goes extra mile buy protecting you against environmental stressors like fine dust that can penetrate deep into your skin.

I bet you're thinking that why in the world I'm reviewing a sunscreen in the middle of the wettest month of the year here in Malaysia or you're thinking that we do not need to use sunscreen on these cloudy days or you're just curious that how is it possible for a sunscreen to exist in light consistency? Will it protect my skin well?

There are so much to learn when it comes to sunscreen and I'm pretty sure you guys are having hard time choosing and trying numbers of sunscreens as with skincare products, we always want to find the right ones that work the best with our skin especially in this hot and humid weather all year round. Lots of sunscreens are available in the market that surely can cater to your preferences and for me, for those days when I stay at home all day or cafe hopping during the weekends, I need a simple sunscreen that works great on top of my morning skincare or underneath my daily makeup.

But first, let me talk a little bit about this latest addition to THE FACE SHOP Malaysia sunscreen line; Natural Sun Eco Daily Sun Essence.

Review | Melati Halal Japanese Skincare

Friday, 27 January 2017
Makeup removers are among those products that ran like water. Well, at least to me, it kinda is as I can somewhat stretch my facial cleansers as I use different products according to my mood and I have separate cleansers for morning and evening but during weekdays where I usually wear wakeup to work, I tend to use one makeup remover throughout the month.

I recently got this makeup remover from Ippin.com.my to try so I'll be sharing with you guys my thoughts on this very product.

First, let me talk a little bit about this Melati Halal Japanese skincare line. Melati is a skincare line that is specialising in makeup removal, moisturising and sun protection products. The brand combines high quality Japanese cosmetic products with Islamic principles.

Product Description:

This gel contains extract from coix lacryma-jobi ma-yuen seed (Adlay Coix seed) and Prunus lannesiana (a kind of cherry blossom), which has been well-known and loved since ancient times, for its effect to smooth, refine, and tone skin, prevent dark spots resulted from sun exposure, and moisturise skin. Continuous use of Melati skin care products to maintain natural, healthy, glowing skin.
