Makeup Stash | Brows

Wednesday, 25 April 2018

The final post for my Makeup Stash series is on these brow products that I've discovered, loved and obsessed with. In my collection, I've got some brow pencils, kits, cushion type and my latest love, brow mousse.

Essence Eyebrow Designer is a brow pencil that I bought because I thought I need a brown colour for my brows but boy was I wrong. It's affordable product but this doesn’t last long on my brows although the colour payoff is quite good. Still, I'd love to try if there's a grey-brown version.

Maybelline Fashion Brow Duo Shaper in Grey and Brown that I use to shape my brows as the small lead is just perfect for drawing short lines. There's a powder version at the other end of the pencil to give a nice wash of colour by using the dome-shaped sponge. I' love using Fashion Brow kit to fill in and set the 'tail' of my brows as these are much intense compared to Duo Shaper; to create some sort of gradation effect. The Fashion Brow Cream Pencil is a great for drawing the lines for sparse area but I still prefer the Duo Shaper.

LANEIGE Eyebrow Cushion-cara Two-Tone No. 2 is the first non-foundation cushion product I ever tried and I was obsessed with it! It's easy to draw short lines and the colours are pretty for gradation effect that I've been working on. This comes with a small duo brush so it's perfect for travel! I've been using one for about a year now and I need to get a refill pretty soon!

Innisfree Eco Eyebrow Kit is something I would use during travel too especially when I need to touch up frequently; I have little hair towards the tail so it's important to set my brows with powder.

THE FACE SHOP Designing Eyebrow Pencil in Gray Brown is definitely my favourite brow pencil - I've been repurchasing for several times as I love the grey-brown shade for this and it's easy to draw and shape my brows with it.

Last but not least, Tarte Amazonian Clay Waterproof Brow Mousse in Medium Brown is my most favourite brow product so far however I still need to set it properly. It comes with its own brush and spoolie which is nice but I still prefer to use my ZOEVA 317 Wing Brush to draw the shape of my brows then blend with the spoolie.

Are you obsessed with brow products like me? Let me know your favourites!

Until next post, annyeong~

Makeup Stash | Eyeshadow Palettes

Sunday, 22 April 2018

Not gonna lie, ever since I bought my first eyeshadow palette ever; no surprise as it's from Urban Decay, I got hooked and collected all the these palettes within the past 3 years. I've actually thrown out some single shadows as they're already oxidized and the colour did changed. I guess at this point, no more palette for me. Okay, that's crazy as one palette's on its way right now but yeah. I'll update on that later.

I recently gotten the Tarte Tartelette Eyeshadow palette as it's on sale on SEPHORA Malaysia. I bet you guys already know this palette; it's a classic, with natural hues and perfect for everyday office look. I haven't been using this a lot to put down my thoughts on this but so far so good!

As shown above, I've got Urban Decay Naked 2, Urban Decay Naked 3 and Urban Decay Naked Smoky; in the reverse order as my very first palette is indeed Smoky palette and still my favourite to this day. As for Naked 3, I love using this palette for those days I'm feeling romantic and wanting to go for soft and feminine looks while Naked 2 is another palette I'm using for daily office looks as well. Overall, I just love the buttery formulation and with good primer, the pigmentations on these babies intensify.

For ZOEVA, I've got the Naturally Yours, Cocoa Blend, Caramel Melange, and Rose Golden a.k.a Princess Palette. To me, all these palettes are all-rounded; from its price points, to the formulation, colour selections, pigmentations, long-lastingness (with a good eye primer, of course!) and the packaging design.

I've recently found new love on this brand that I've recently discovered (of course, I'm always behind when it comes to makeup!) and I went crazy with buying 3 palettes at the same time. My first palette is ColourPop x Karrueche Fem Rosa SHE Shadow Palette and I literally butchered this palette the day I got my hands on it. The colours are pretty and I love every single shade in it. Then, when I saw my fave YouTube released her own palette I just had to get it as well and that's ColourPop x Kathleen Lights Dream St. Shadow Palette. I have to say that the blue colour in this palette is super pretty with the rest of the colours complement each other and perfect for daily eye makeup looks. One of my partner-in-crime (when it comes to makeup, duh!) gotten herself the ColourPop You Had Me at Hello Shadow Palette and I decided to also get one for myself. I love this palette a little bit extra because this one has a mirror in it.

Last but not least, these single shadows from THE FACE SHOP and Innisfree Korea (these aren’t available in Malaysian stores), Maybelline cream shadow which is perfect as base with ColourPop Super Shock in Coconut is an absolute favourite colour of mine. Sorry if the the pictures too bright for your eyes, my camera is still at the repair shop and these are taken using iPhone camera..

So, did you spot your personal favourite? Let me know your favourite eyeshadow palette by leaving comments down below.

Until next post, annyeong~

Makeup Look | Daily Office Makeup

Wednesday, 15 June 2016
In last week's post on my beauty haul for last month, I talked a little bit about my daily makeup routine for office which is all about achieving that natural simple look hence in today's post, I'll be going in with details on the makeup items I use.

Drugstore Haul | Maybelline Malaysia

Saturday, 2 April 2016
I think it's safe to say that my hauls for this year is more on makeup rather than skincare unlike the past few years as I'm getting more and more interested on applying makeup by myself plus ever since I started working, the need to appear presentable in front of others is always there but all the more reason to do makeup for me is actually having fun by myself.

Beauty Favourites | January

Sunday, 31 January 2016
Hello, beautiful people! How's your weekend so far? Mine's not so great as after doing some work around the house this morning, I needed to rush to the city to meet several clients and that's something I don't like doing especially when I've made plans to attend my garden... and of course, I was just taking some photos for review before the text came into my phone. Totally ruined my mood~

But still, I decided to move on with the plan even though it's almost 6 in the morning (I just got up and felt so determined to do this post as I have been planning, doing the drafts, took photos... and now I have 3 shots of coffee on hand... Let's get right into it~

Beauty Empties 7.0 | October

Saturday, 7 November 2015

Salam and annyeong, lovelies! Recently, I noticed that my drawers are filled with empty tubes and bottles - yes, I didn't throw them out right away as I keep on saying that "I'm gonna include this on my next monthly Empties post so let's just put it in here". But then, when I opened the drawers yesterday, it's full!! XD Yes, this post is long overdue so let's get onto it, shall we?

Beauty Haul | July

Wednesday, 30 July 2014
Assalammualaikum and annyeonghaseyo! 'Eid Mubarak to all Muslims in the world! How's your 'Eid by the way? Mine was... unsurprisingly exhausting! I didn't have much time to prepare before the celebration as I only got home like 3 days before so I have to rush everything plus we went back to my grandmas's place a day before so yeah.. it was crazy.

Okay, moving on with the post, to be perfectly honest, I was so busy throughout this month (I'm sorry as the updates are being slow) and I only went out shopping like once right after Eid. Heck, I don't even shop for Eid. So, this month's haul is focusing on some items that need to be repurchased while some just bought as gifts for myself as I celebrated my birthday on the first day of Eid this  year. :)

As you probably expected, first, let's go to Laneige Malaysia!

From the White Plus Renew line, I decided to repurchased the Skin Refiner, Original Essence and the Original Cream as my current ones are running out. I used up the Trial Set throughout April to mid May and started to use the full sized ones since that. No worries, to those who're waiting for the reviews of the products from this line, I'll be sure to post them soon. :)

Another repurchased item is the Clear-C Effector, a booster filled with 35% of Vitamin C. Totally loving it hence the repurchase. I'm praying hard that the new (I assume more awesome) upgraded version, the Clear-C Advanced Effector with 90% more Vitamin C is going to be brought to Malaysian counters soon as it was launched last June in S. Korea. As I mentioned in my previous Empties Post before, I tried few sample pots and I really had fall my head over heels with the Firming Sleeping Pack in contrary to the bestseller Water Sleeping Pack hence I bought one for me and another for mum.

Above are some of the freebies that I received upon purchase at the counter while others are sample packets that I gave to mum and some friends. I received another Trial Kit for the White Plus Renew line and one Basic & Water Bank Refreshing Kit along with two Water Bank Mineral Skin Mists (one in older packaging).

Next, let's go to Etude House!

Well... technically, I didn't go to the store this month as these items were bought by my cousin from the Korean stores who brought them back to Malaysia recently. Introducing the new (I assume soon-to-be-launched-in-Malaysia) upgraded version of the Wonder Pore Freshner! This is still listed under new product section in the Etude House Korea official app (go and download them!) With merely 15,000KRW (approximately RM45), it comes with free cotton pads (like the ones from Skinfood Black Sugar Perfect First Serum) and that cute Special Kit that contains also new Soap, 25ml miniature and sample of Pore Corrector. To be honest, I'm still at my second 500ml bottle but I couldn't resist the fact that the new one has cooling effect! Yay!

I also asked her to get me one Cleansing Foam from the Every Month cleansing line which is the March: Apple & Tomato (Tone Clarifying) at less than RM10 (retailed at RM29.90) and that Face Conditioning Cream (Light) with SPF25 PA++ at less than RM25 which retailed at RM79.90 here in Malaysian stores. I was lucky as my cousin bought them during sales. :)

Review | Maybelline Smooth Clear Collection

Friday, 6 December 2013
Hello, my lovely readers! Finally the week is over and T.G.I.F! Tomorrow is the only day I can relax and do stuffs I want to do like rolling on my bed all day! LOL Haha :D Kidding! I have urban trail tomorrow i.e. walking around KL city and take street photos.

Anyway, today marks the 14th week since I became a beauty blogger and for the first time ever, I would like to do a makeup review. :)

Like I mentioned in my previous post, I've been using this line since about 10 years ago and only recently the packaging has changed! ...and I am still not sure whether to get the new ones or nor cause I bought other compact powders from another line (Maybelline Mineral Powder Foundation and TheFaceShop Oil Cute Pore Powder Pact) but yeah, since it's so affordable, why not? hehe shopaholic alert!

Basically, there are 3 items that I have from this Maybelline's Clear Smooth line.

Beauty Haul | November

Saturday, 23 November 2013
When I see other bloggers hauls, I noticed that most of them post their monthly haul at the beginning of the month. But for me, like today, I'll be posting on stuffs that I bought throughout this month of November, so when I decided to do reviews on them, it means I have been using them for a quite period period of time, unless it's stated it is a first impression post.

Now let's get right into it!

I've been loving the products that I have from Skinfood so I went to the store again to get some more products and trial kits which are perfect just to try out some stuffs. I got the Black Sugar kit that contain Black Sugar Perfect First Serum Miniature with Cotton pads and Black Sugar Scrub Foam and the Facial Care Kit that contains Carrot Cleansing Foam (50ml), Facial Water Vita-C (Mist) 50ml, head band, and cotton pads. I also got the Black Sugar Wash-Off Mask as I've been hearing great things about it being a holy grail product among beauty bloggers.

Makeup Routine | Daily and Occasional Makeup Items

Wednesday, 13 November 2013
I was talking to one of studiomate the other day and we were talking about what kinds of makeup that we use for our go-to makeup routine. It goes without saying that as someone who don't really have much time especially in the morning, where my classes started at 8 or 9 a.m., my makeup routine is pretty simple.

I divided my makeup items into several group of products, from those that I wear for one to two hours of discussion or tutorial sessions, to my everyday makeup routine, for dining occasions and when I'm out with my girls.

First, let's go to the most simplest one.

Maybelline Clear Smooth Shine Free B.B. Stick SPF21 PA+++ in 02 Natural

Maybelline Clear Smooth 8-in-1 Skin Transformer B.B Cream SPF26 PA+++ in 02 Natural

Maybelline Clear Smooth Extra Shine Free Powder Foundation SPF20 in Natural

To be frank, the above products are my first makeup ever since I was 15. First, I had the powder pact, then comes the concealer and lastly, the BB Cream. I guess old habit die hard. Though I have other similar products, I just keep on buying these one after another for the past 10 years.

Maybelline Master Liner Eye liner in Black. This one is just if you're looking for something that you're gonna wear for like well, 1 to two hours, without sweating so much. It's non-waterproof, doesn't stay long, and easily smudged. I was in a hurry when I bought this. Big mistake.
