Skincare Routine | Cleansing Tools

Wednesday, 9 May 2018

One of the biggest beauty-related purchase for the first half of 2018 is this Clarisonic Smart Profile Face and Body Brush. I actually haven’t been using this a lot as my skin is kinda sensitive for the past few weeks due to food poisoning so I’m currently focusing on sensitive skincare products. However, those several times that I was using this were amazing as my skin feels soft and products were quickly absorbed compared to the times I was just using my hands or traditional facial brush. I have to admit I do miss using this and I can’t wait to get to use it again, maybe in a couple more weeks? I'd sure hope!

Whenever I use cleansing oils, I usually emulsify it using a damped facial sponge and wipe off the residue with it. I would save so much time and water compared to just rinsing it off. I've gotten that from THE FACE SHOP but any facial sponge will do I think. I'd suggest to get any from drugstores.

Lastly, a bubble maker that I got from Daiso. I love bubble foams like Bifesta Foaming Whip but I won't be hurrying to finish that so I take small amount of my other deep cleanser, putting it inside the container, mix with a little water and pump until soft foam bubbles are formed. Love it!

I guess that's all from me! Do let me know your favourite facial cleansing tools by leaving comments down below. Until next time, annyeong~

Skincare Routine | Facial Cleansing Tools

Wednesday, 10 January 2018
Another post for my Beauty Routine series where I'll be talking about line of products at certain point of my skincare or makeup routine and this time my facial cleansing tools that I regularly use with my cleansing products.

A bubble maker from Daiso Japan. Whenever I feel like my regular cleansing foam is making my skin feel dry after each use, I use this bubble maker to foam it up. This way I use less amount of product and feel less if not not drying at all. Just put a small amount of cleansing foam in the cup and add a little water then just keep pumping the stick with perforated base in and out of the cup till smooth foam slowly formed.

THE FACE SHOP Facial Sponge. A typical facial sponge that I use after massaging my face well with cleansing oil and emulsifying it with water. It's much faster rather than just to rinse it off with water for like 5 minutes or till the oily feeling actually gone. I usually just wipe my face with it and rinse it with water and repeat like 2 to 3 times before proceeding with cleansing oil.

The Body Shop Facial Brush is a facial brush that I’ve been using and repurchasing several times already. I love using this like 2 times a week with my evening cleanser to really deep cleanse my T-zone area a long with the facial area.

I'm actually still saving for a cleansing device and similar to other people out there, I'm torn between getting a Clarisonic or Foreo. Got any advice? Let me know by leaving comments down below.

Until next post, annyeong~

Review: Laneige Clear-C Effector

Sunday, 27 July 2014
Assalammualaikum and annyeong, lovely people! Happy Wednesday! Wah~ I can't wait for this weekend cause honestly it's been a while since I last watch a movie at a cinema plus I'm going to need to do some shopping as well. hehe

Today I'm going to review one of my favourite product from Laneige which is this Clear-C Effector!
I'm going to tell you guys why I really love it but first, let's go over some basics about this product.

Review: Etude House Wonder Pore Freshener

Saturday, 15 March 2014
Annyeonghaseyo! and since I've been noticing some visitors from Japan, Irrashaimase! :D

This week have been very intense as I had critique session yesterday so this weekend is all about healing whatever has been broken (..um, I broke few things at studio LOL) and of course time to give myself some facial treatment.. hehe

Anyway, today I'm going to review about a toner that I've been using for the past few months which is this Wonder Pore Freshener from Etude House!

I bought this together with the Wonder Pore Cotton Glove. :)

First, let's talk about the famous Freshener. :) It claims 7 in 1 total pore solution.
      1. Maintain pH 4.5 (optimum)
      2. Refine skin tone.
      3. keep the elasticity of pores.
      4. Deep cleanses pores.
      5. Minimise appearance of pores
      6. Control large amount of sebum
      7. Moisturise inside and and outside of skin.

Product Description:
This product is a total solution for pore care, preventing enlarged pores, less firmer skin and skin troubles by eliminating what hurts skin from within.

How to use:
Soak the cotton pad with the freshener and wipe your face from the centre of your face to the outside.
With gentle patting, let the skin absorb the leftover Freshener.
You can carry the Freshener in a mist type container and apply onto your skin when there is too much sebum or you have itchy feeling.

Vol.: 500ml

Use within 12 months after opening and right after dispensed from the bottle.

Ingredients:

I like the fact that Etude House opted for Phenoxythanol (hopefully in low amount) as preservative. The product also contains rice bran extract and lemon fruit extract that I believe can help refining and refreshing skin tone, also there's Hyaluronic Acid that can help with keeping our skin's elasticity healthy.

Packaging:

As you can see in the above photos, the product comes in a blue box that have the same illustrations as its sister products. The plastic box is definitely sturdy that can protect the product throughout the time it's being shipped or just stored in the shop.

From the illustrations, I guess we can conclude that it's trying to portray your pore problems and how this product can help you.

Illustrated above is how you can use the product not only as toner but also freshener i.e Facial mist.

That's basically the huge bottle. I believe this product also comes in 250ml, but of course that size is lacking one thing.

That lacking thing is indeed this amazing pump. Usually can be seen in beauty salons, this time it's used to dispense the product out of its bottle. Just pushed down carefully with your cotton pad.

Note that the manufacturing date is printed on the bottom of the bottle.

Now, let's talk about the Wonder Pore Cotton Glove. It's a glove type double-sided pad that can be used in place of cotton pad, effectively cleanses and smoothing out pores when used with Wonder Pore Freshener.

On the left, the dotted side is the side that you can used to exfoliate the dead skin cells while on the right is the after you exfoliate, tap that side of the pad on your skin and let your skin to absorb the remained product.

You can put your fingers inside the cotton pads and swipe your skin carefully. Do note NOT to use the dotted side of the pad harshly on your skin. it might skin. Exfoliate carefully. :)

That's how the toner looks like. Looks ordinary isn't it?

Verdict:
What I can say about this product that it's very generous (with that amount of 500ml!!) and very effective! This toner really helps with my T-zone compared to my previous toners.
When it comes to my enlarged pores, I don't believe it can help with my enlarged pores but at least it can minimise the appearance of it. My skin appears to be smoother and refined to before.
What I can tell is how effective the product is based on its ingredients. So, like I said above, in a nutshell, this product totally liven up to its claim.
I guess the reason for this product to be so huge in its size because we can use it both as toners and facial mists. So, yeah it's really beneficial to both to my skin and budget.
The probable downside of this product is probably it's hard to travel with but it's fine for me as I have lots of containers I can use for travel and whatnot.

Three things on the side of my backpack! :D

Final verdict: 5/5. Though this product looks ordinary, I believe it's a very good product and of course, I will repurchase this. :D

In fact....

I bought 2 during a Buy 1 Free 1 sale (retailed at RM89.90) sale and another 1 included in Christmas Set (RM169.90) during my December Haul.

What do you think of this product? Have you ever tried this? Do tell your opinions and drop comments below.

That's all for today. Enjoy the rest of your weekend, yeah?

Until next post, annyeong!

Review | Etude House Wonder Pore Clay Clear Mask

Friday, 8 November 2013
Hello, beautiful people! How's your week so far? I bet you guys are all busy partying for Halloween right now. Collecting candies and whatnot. Though I don't celebrate Halloween, it's always interesting to learn other people's culture. Anyway, I'm back with another review and this time I'll be reviewing my first wash-off mask from Etude House and it's from the awesome Wonder Pore line, the Clay Clear Mask.

I bet you guys already know that integrating a clay-based products is a must for those who have oily and oily-normal combo skin. Why? Cause clay can help in absorbing excess sebum and minimise your pores!
