Review: Etude House Wonder Pore Whipping Foam

Thursday 5 June 2014
Lovelies, annyeong!! How's your week so far? For me it's still in the early days of my so-called 'summer' vacay so yeah. All is good. hikhik

One of my girls stroke me with a question before about my blog's name, Le Miel et laVanille, saying why is it in French as in here I'm blogging about Korean beauty products. Honestly, I never thought about it! LOL

What I remember is it's because I love these two things i.e. honey and vanilla, hence they'll remind me of these beauty products that I love so much so yeah. ... it' doesn't really connect??? Hmm.... then should I change the blog's name to 'kkul gwa banila' (honey and vanilla in Korean) instead?

..maybe I should really consider these things... hmm..

Anywho, today I'm going to do a review on a product that I bought last December

Ah, I remember buying so much as it was Christmas promotion. hehe As I already reviewed the awesome toner or better known as freshener which also can be used as facial mist, today I'm going to review another product from the same Wonder Pore line, which is the Whipping Foaming.

But first, if you didn't know (which I doubt), the brand ambassador, Sulli was using this product in the famous To the Beautiful You drama and there's also a video where she and Key SHINee was demonstrating on products that can be used especially for pore care during this summer.

See the product that sit in front of Sulli? Also when Minho was helping her washing her face.

Even clearer, here! hehe watching this scene really... eyy. so lucky!! (yeah.. there was a time I'm really into SHINee.. I actually followed their updates up until 2010 then I stopped obsessing with K-Pop altogether.. until early this year I think, I'm back listening to K-Pop)

Here's the video. Credit to the video owner. :)

First thing first, Product Description!

Formulated with oxygen-delivering 'Carbonated' ingredient and pore-caring natural ingredients, this 2 in 1 foaming wash and mask effectively treats impurities inside pores and helps prevent future pore related problems.

How to use:
As a daily face wash: Dispense on a facial cleansing brush or palm, and massage onto wet face with gentle circular motions. Rinse off with lukewarm water.

As mask: Apply generously all over wet, cleansed face and leave for 1 to 2 minutes. Massage with fingers or a Pore Cleansing facial brush in gentle circular motions, rinse off with lukewarm water. Do it once or twice a week.

Packaging:

Like the rest of products from the same product line, this product comes in that blue colour with the same Wonder Pore style packaging. Like the Freshener, this product too, comes in its own plastic box. The product itself is housed within that tin bottle with the same pattern.

There's product description at one of the side of the box in English. It's mentioned in there that the product is 200ml and like most products, it need to be used up within 12 months.

This product contains alcohol so if you're sensitive towards it, I won't be recommending this. Also, it uses phenoxyethanol as preservative. Hopefully in low level of quantity. :)

Like other products from the same line, this one too claims well, 7 things which can read from above photos.

As expected, as it says this is a whipping foaming. of course this comes with a pump like whip cream bottles. Been using the product for about a month and I don't experience any problem with the pump so far.

There's product batch number I'm assuming and manufacturing date printed at the bottom of the tin bottle.

Verdict:
I heard this product can remove makeup as well so I'm going to test whether that's true or not.

I decided to use a black liquid eyeliner, waterproof eyeliner, brow definer, on top is my current BB Cream, on the right is a Maybelline mousse foundation (can you see it though? It really blends with my skin colour), below is my Laneige BB Cushion, that if I'm not mistaken is waterproof.

That's about the amount that I usually dispensed each time I'm using each time. For this test, after massaging for about a minute, I wiped it off with tissue and tada! All is gone except for the waterproof eyeliner. Though I expected that actually. hehe

With its ability to remove at least base makeups like foundation and BB Creams thoroughly, I use this for double cleansing. After using it, it didn't leave me with any 'tight' feeling. Really just a refreshed feeling.

After some time, I'm using this product as my morning cleanser instead as it really helps with my oil-control during the day and I can say that my BB cream also lasts longer than usual.

Basically this product does what it claims, really. By deep cleanse my pores, it really helps maintaining skin texture and of course, following this step with the sister product, Freshener as toner, really helps with the result.

Final verdict: 4/5. Basically, to me this is a good product. In South Korea, this is sold around RM40 but here in local store this product is sold at retailed price of RM89.90 if I'm not mistaken. But as I got this as it was included in the Christmas Set last year, I think it's quite less than the retail price.

So yeah, that's about it. Have you tried this product? Do share your thoughts even if you haven't. hehe

That's all from me! Hope you enjoy this upcoming weekend!

Au revoir!
